Overcoming People Pleasing And Walk Into Your Purpose
Have you ever allowed the voice of men to override the voice of God?
Have you ever said, "What would they think of me if they knew XYZ about my life and you proceeded to show up in either a past version of yourself or not in your full being?
Have you ever wanted people to approve or validate you or overextended yourself?
The Bible says in Matthew 6:24, "No one can serve two masters."
I believe it's important to heed Matthew 6:24 because, at its core, pleasing people is idolatry.
It's having God & a god.
The Bible says that God is jealous and that no one will be above Him, so here's what I want to leave you with.
This blog post will share a few ways to walk free and revived from people-pleasing
#1 Ask God to reveal the root:
Find the root of your people-pleasing because it is a symptom of a bigger issue that needs to be addressed, which could be abandonment, rejection, insecurity, or trauma.
#2 People WILL NEVER be the source
People will never be your source or the source. Put all of your eggs in Jesus' basket! When we misplace our source, we give people power and humanize God's strength and capabilities.
#3 Repent and make an obedient decision
Repent for idolatry and make a conscious decision that from today forward, you will seek to obey God's voice even when you don't quite understand what God is doing.
